The K21 Exam

One of the toughest exams in the world, by design.

One exam that measures knowledge across 12 engineering disciplines, business and finance against one global standard.

Why make it this tough?

Easy exams produce certificates. Tough exams produce proof.

The K21 exam is deliberately demanding because its result has to mean something: to universities, to employers and to you.

It is modelled on the selection methods used by high-end global companies to hire. That means testing reasoning under pressure, applying knowledge to unfamiliar problems, and showing how you think as well as what you remember.

What the exam covers

Five areas. One sitting.

01

Engineering breadth

Knowledge drawn from twelve engineering disciplines, so one exam reflects the range of what K21 learners study.

02

Business & administration

How organisations, markets and governments work across 193 countries.

03

Financial management

Budgeting, investment basics, financial decisions and reading the numbers behind a business.

04

Reasoning & aptitude

Creative, analytical and logical thinking: the IQ power K21 trains.

05

Applied problem-solving

Real-world scenarios in the style of global company selection rounds.

6months apart

How often?

Every six months.

The K21 exam is held once every six months. That gives you:

  • Two chances a year to take the exam or improve your result
  • Enough time between sittings to genuinely learn, not just cram
  • A regular, predictable rhythm you can plan your studies around

Exam structure

Built like a global selection round.

Each section mirrors a round that top companies use to choose their people.

A

Reasoning & IQ

Logical, numerical, verbal and abstract reasoning, and pattern recognition.

Like aptitude rounds
B

Engineering Core

Concepts across the 12 engineering disciplines.

Like technical rounds
C

Applied Problem-Solving

Unfamiliar, real-world problems that need several disciplines together.

Like case and design rounds
D

Business & Administration

How organisations and markets work across countries.

Like management trainee tests
E

Budgets, statements and investment decisions.

Like analyst assessments
F

Communication

Explaining a solution clearly, in writing or out loud.

Because the exam runs every six months, you can move up the scale over time. Your best result is the one that represents you.

Level 1

Foundation

You have built the base. Keep going.

Level 2

Advanced

You meet the global standard in most areas.

Level 3

Distinction
